In 2017, I got the oppotrunity to work as assisant editor on George Fok’s incredible video installation exploring Leonard Cohen’s music and performance.

“Passing Through is an immersive video work celebrating Leonard Cohen's singular voice, influential music, charismatic persona, and inimitable stage presence. Drawing on a vast archive of audiovisual material, Fok pays tribute to Cohen's monumental five-decade career through a collage of collective memories, concert footage, and emotions that have enchanted generations of fans worldwide. As a seamless, hour-long video presentation, Passing Through invites visitors to explore Cohen's life and legacy as a mash-up concert, a composite portrait of the artist, and an evocative reflection on his relationship with God, his fans, and himself.”

Commissioned by the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal as part of the 2017 Leonard Cohen retrospective “A Crack In Everything”

Exhibited at: MAC Montreal, Jewish Museum (NYC), Kunsthallen Nikolaj (Copenhagen), Contemporary Jewish Museum (San Francisco), AGO (Toronto)

Video work I made as part of Lino Kino’s collaboration with PAFA “This Won’t Last”.

“This Won’t Last consists of seven new video works by the Philadelphia-based media arts collective Lino Kino. The series questions everyday assumptions about the roles and implicit meanings of monumental art in public spaces by presenting subjects rarely memorialized—such as failure, loss, entropy, the mundane, and the unacknowledged—on a monumental scale.”

“Hindenburg/Goodyear Reincarnation Cycle evaluates the history of the airship as a monument to failure. The Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey—only fifty miles from Philadelphia—was the nexus for airship development in the early twentieth century. In 1937, the German Zeppelin Hindenburg burst into flames at Lakehurst. In juxtaposing the public spectacle of the Hindenburg disaster and subsequent rise of the Goodyear blimp, Ober meditates on the process by which social value is repurposed as commercial value. “If the Hindenburg is a memorial of decay and disintegration,” notes Ober, “then the Goodyear is born from its ashes, emblemizing success, commodity, and American exceptionalism.”

I edited a photomontage of work by photographer Loli Kantor in collaboration with the Hevreh Ensemble.

“Performed in Poland and in the USA, “Path of Light” was an exciting and innovative multi-media collaboration with Hevreh Ensemble and photographer Loli Kantor. The project includes original works by Hevreh member and composer Jeff Adler and a video projection incorporating images from Loli Kantor’s “Beyond the Forest: Jewish Presence in Eastern Europe 2004-2012”.

The work was performed in June & July 2018 for the International Jewish Cultural Festival in Krakow, at Galeria Labirynt in Lublin, and at the POLIN Museum of Jewish History in Warsaw. It was also performed in September 2018 at Bard College at Simons Rock in Great Barrington, MA.”
